Taiwan will submit A Sun, by Taiwanese veteran auteur Chung Mong-Hong, for the Best International Feature of the 93rd Academy Awards.
The biggest winner of the Golden Horse Awards in 2019, A Sun is about an ordinary family of four who goes through a series of unexpected events that lead to dramatic changes of fate. The film had its world premiere in Toronto before screenings in Busan, Tokyo, and Palm Springs. It has also recently been nominated for seven Asian Film Awards, including Best Film and Best Director.
