Chen Yu-hsun’s My Missing Valentine is the top winner of the 57th Golden Horse Awards, collecting five awards including Best Narrative Feature, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, Best Film Editing and Best Visual Effects.
This is Chen Yu-hsun’s first Best Director win and his second Best Original Screenplay trophy since Tropical Fish.
Tomi Kuo scored his back-to-back Best Visual Effects win. He won the award for Detention last year.
Lai Hsiu-Hsiung also won for two years in a row. He won Best Film Editing for A Sun last year.
Classmates Minus, co-financed by MandarinVision and directed by Huang Hsin-Yao, won Best Supporting Actor (Nadow Lin) and Best Art Direction.
City of Lost Things won Best Animated Feature. This is Yee Chih-yen’s first 3D animated feature. He previously won for Best Original Screenplay for Meeting Dr. Sun. MandarinVision has acquired its international sales and distribution rights.
The Silent Forest, directed by Ko Chen-nien, who herself was nominated for Best New Director, won Best New Performer (Chen Yan-Fei) and Best Sound Effects. MandarinVision handles the international festival distribution for the film.
